I purchased this gift for my son and daughter in law when we knew that my grand daughter was going to be spending several months in the NICU after birth. It arrived very quickly, packaged beautifully, and my son and daughter in law loved it. The NICU staff at Cincinnati Childrens hospital was very receptive with the cards and let us decorate the isolette with the picture cards and even took pictures for them using the milestones cards. The parents and all the grandparents read the articles and blogs on this site as well, and learned a lot about what is expected of visitors in the NICU and what our little one needed during that NICU stay. I highly recommend this gift for any parent facing a NICU experience with their baby, not just for premies. Our baby was a full term infant with an abdominal wall defect requiring surgery, but my daughter in law took the advice from the articles and journaled and used every item provided in this gift.
I bought this a few days after having my 23weeker. I didn’t know it would mean so much to me when I received it, but after 119 days in the NICU and 4 months home, it means so much! It was a great way to pour love into our little one when we couldn’t hold and love him as much as we wanted. I kept it in his room on the bulletin board and it gave me a mental distraction on the rough days and a outlet to celebrate on the good. The sticker options are perfect, and it helped to mentally guide us on all the small achievements that we wouldn’t have otherwise thought to celebrate in the moment. All of his nurses love it and thought it was wonderful! It brings a little light in such a hard time.

As a former NICU nurse myself, I searched long and hard for the most appropriate journal after my water broke at 31 weeks. Our baby was born at 33 weeks and man has this journal been a absolute life saver. It helps me remember so many little details even when mom brain kicks in. Absolutely going to be recommending!
